It has been far too long since I’ve been able to sit down and write a post! The past few weeks have been crazy busy, from move in to work week to sorority recruitment to the first week of classes! I still haven’t fully settled into a routine and my room is far from being done (I will definitely share a post on it when it is), but I do have some time to write, so here’s a long overdue guide to Vancouver.
I’ve been so many times I’ve lost count, so here are my favorite spots to eat and things to do in Vancity!
Things to Eat
1. Siegel’s Bagels
If you know me, you know how much I love bagels. And if you know me really well, you know that I love Siegel’s Bagels more than any others! They are totally different from what we’re used to here in the U.S. (think Noah’s or Einstein’s) but way better. If you ever find yourself in the Vancouver area, they are a must.
2. Sophie’s Cosmic Cafe
This old-fashioned diner is so much fun! The decor is definitely a little different, they have lots random items and memorabilia covering the walls. They’re known for their hot sauce (and my family is known for buying tons of it to take back home!), but I think their pancakes are pretty awesome as well. Sophie’s is a great place for a fun, family brunch!
3. 49th Parallel Coffee Roasters
I’m not one for coffee, but I do love hot chocolate and pastries! They have the best hot chocolate (once I had eskimo bar hot chocolate there *insert heart eye emoji here*) and really amazing pastries. The cafe itself is also very cute, and very Insta-worthy 😉
Things to Do
1. Granville Island
There is so much to do on Granville Island! My favorite is the market, which has tons of amazing food, like Siegel’s, the best donuts ever (!!), and lots of fresh produce. There are also some booths selling art and jewelry. Granville Island also has tons of great places to window shop, an area all for kids, and a small water park. And to get back to the city, you can take a sea taxi, which is tons of fun!
2. Capilano Suspension Bridge
If you’re afraid of heights I would definitely skip this one, but for me it’s a must-see! The view from the bridge is stunning and the tree walk on the other side is amazing! There’s also a cliff walk, which is awesome if you like being on a small walkway hanging off the side of a cliff!
3. Stanley Park
Stanley Park is huge, and so beautiful! You can do the sea walk which is a loop right on the water, or you can hike through the park. Tons of people bike the sea wall as well. There’s also a swimming pool and a playground in the park!
There are a million other things to do in Vancouver, but these are a few of my favorites! Thanks for reading and fingers crossed that I’ll be able to get a new post up soon!
xx, C
