Happy Tuesday! I got back from my trip late Sunday night and had a final paper to write for my summer class, so I wasn’t able to get a post up yesterday like I had planned. I’m exhausted but I had the best time in Georgia! I went with a close friend from school, huge thank you to her and her family for opening their new home to me! I though I’d share with y’all a day-by-day recap of what I did while I was there. It was the perfect mix of exploring and relaxing!
Thursday
We took a redeye Wednesday night and got in at around 6:30 a.m. EST so as soon as we got to the apartment I slept for a few hours (for those of you who know me this is HUGE because I don’t take naps!). Once we woke up we decided to get some food, and somehow stumbled upon Bell Street Burritos. I had a burrito bowl and it was delicious, I would highly recommend!
Next on the agenda was relaxing by the pool! The apartment complex had an amazing rooftop pool situation and it was perfect to rest up before our next stop: the Sam Hunt concert! I didn’t take any pictures at the concert, but it was so much fun! I’ve been to a lot of concerts and this one was definitely a favorite.
Friday
Friday was a busy day!! We started with brunch at Highland Bakery, which was amazing. I had the ricotta pancakes (yum) and we decided we couldn’t pass up this peanut butter french toast, so we got one to share. Y’all. It was so good.
Next we did some exploring. We found a few cool walls for photo ops, a cute home decor shop, and these rainbow painted crosswalks! We also walked around Piedmont Park, which was so beautiful! It was pretty hot and humid, so after that we headed straight back to the pool (can you tell that was my favorite part?!).
For dinner we ordered in from Buckhead Pizza – they have the best garlic knots. We ate on the balcony to watch the sunset, but right after we were surprised by a lightning storm! It was actually pretty amazing to watch.
Saturday
We headed to 8arm for brunch, which had some amazing avocado toast and one of the best cinnamon rolls I have ever eaten! Afterwards, it was time for some shopping. We went to Lenox Square – it was bigger than any mall I’ve been in and I’m not gonna lie, we definitely got lost in there.
I didn’t purchase anything crazy, but I got some Vineyard Vines t-shirts for my brothers (here and here), another Vineyard Vines baseball cap (the only ones I actually wear frequently), and this Calvin Klein bra (it is the comfiest thing ever!).
For an afternoon pick-me-up we headed to Kale Me Crazy (I’m a sucker for a good pun!) where I got a turkey wrap and watermelon juice. If you haven’t tried watermelon juice, you are seriously missing out!! Afterwards we head to – you guessed it! – the pool and spent the night in to watch a movie.
Sunday
Sunday started off with breakfast on the balcony and then we headed to the Skyline ferris wheel. It had great views of Atlanta, and was right next to the aquarium and Coca-cola Factory! Then we headed over to Emory College and drove around. It is such a beautiful campus, and has me highly considering heading to grad school there! We then got lunch at Saba, a pasta place. Not gonna lie, it was a little weird walking in but the pasta was amazing!!
Our flight was Sunday evening, so we packed up after lunch and headed to the airport.
I hope you enjoyed that little recap of my travels! I’m headed to Vancouver this weekend and will be posting a similar recap sometime next week. Thanks for reading!
xx, C
