My family had a trip to Maui planned for June, and even though we aren’t going anymore, I wanted to share what my Maui packing list would have looked like! I’m so sad we can’t go (I’d been trying to get my family to choose Maui as our summer vacay destination for a few years!), but of course I know it’s safest that we stay home for now. Maybe next summer!
I had started this collage and blog post back in February when I was dreaming of warm weather, beaches, and palm tress. *sigh.* Until traveling there is a reality, please mind your business if you see me strolling around my neighborhood dressed for a tropical vacation!

1. Blue One-Shoulder Bikini
This is one of the items on this list I ordered (perhaps a bit prematurely), and it’s so cute! Such a nice shade of blue and shockingly, fits pretty well (skip to #15 if you want more info on my bikini shopping struggles). Abercrombie has really stepped up their game lately!
2. Supergoop Sunscreen
I feel like I keep posting about this sunscreen and then never actually purchasing it… Even though it won’t be making it’s way to Maui this summer, I’m sure it still works just the same for some backyard laying-out. Right?
3. Straw Hat
I have a nearly identical one I bought a few summers ago in Florence, but I’ve always loved this classic one that is in style every single season! Not too big, not too small – just right! Perfect for the beach, the lake, the pool, the backyard… you get the point.
4. Leopard Headband
I recently hopped aboard the headband train and y’all, where have I been?! They’re the perfect summer vacation accessory for when you’ve been at the beach or pool all day and don’t want to do you hair, but still want to look put-together. I also have this rattan one that is essential (or as essential as a headband can be) for spring/summer.
5. Straw Sandals
These are the best summer sandal, I have them in both the straw and cognac! Super comfy, and go with everything. The white is adorable too, and the price is right! I love the straw ones the most though, they’re trendy but not too trendy, ya know? I also LOVE this pair of straw sandals, and they’re under $20!
6. Black One-Shoulder Bikini
You’d think one one-shoulder bikini would be enough, but you’d be wrong! I never ended up purchasing this one, but the black with the bow is just so classic and a one-shoulder look is always flattering. I definitely don’t need this one, but don’t be surprised if you see me wearing it this summer.
7. Veja Sneakers
Pricey, but everyone needs these in their lives! I have been looking for the perfect white sneaker for forever and this is it. I also LOVE the white with the blue accents. They look great with anything from jeans to a dress, and the quality can’t be beat. I debated purchasing these for so long and I wish I’d gotten them sooner. Perfect for everyday and vacation, if you ask me.
8. Cheetah Print Bikini
This bikini is fit for a Cheetah Girl summering in Barcelona (#ifykyk)! But sadly, but the time I got around to writing this post, the prink has sold out. It’s still available in black and white though! Great price, and no weird tan lines. Score!
9. Summer Fridays Jet Lag Mask
This mask is my holy grail! It’s great to use during or after a flight (remember those?), or anytime you skin needs a little extra moisture like after a day in the sun. I always include this on any packing list, but especially my Maui packing list since it’s a longer flight!
10. Cabana Sunglasses
These sunglasses are named cabana for a reason! Perfectly oversized with the best tortoise shell print, obviously meant for poolside, cabana lounging. But also pretty great for day to day wear – they go with everything! I gifted these to my mom for Mother’s Day because she was always borrowing my pair. I love the classic tortoise, but they come in other colors as well!
11. Colorful Tile Bracelet
I’m fairly certain this bracelet is a dupe of a more expensive brand, but I love it all the same! It’s a fun, summery pop of color which is great for me since my outfits don’t tend to be all that colorful. It would look cute with anything else on this list!
12. Swimsuit Coverup
I’ve been searching for the perfect white, button swim coverup for months! This can also be worn as an actual shirt, but I loved it as a classic, tunic-y coverup. It’s crisp and goes with anything! A must for your Maui p
13. Colorful Hoop Earrings
Just like the bracelet, these earrings a great pop of color for gals like me who tend to stick to neutrals in their wardrobes! Only $7 (deal!) and lightweight enough for me (I am SUPER picky about the weight of hoop/statement earrings). I actually ordered these months ago, and they showed up to my apartment in Texas after I’d been sheltering-in-place for a week or so in CA. I was so excited to find them amongst all my stuff when unpacking!
14. White Ankle Flare Jeans
You can’t vacation during the spring and summer months without a cute pair of white jeans! It just wouldn’t be right. I had been on the hunt for a pair like these for sooo long, and finally found them at Abercrombie! I got the long version because I am 5’7″ and I find Abercrombie’s regular length is too short on me. They are perfect – comfortable, stretchy, and super flattering. I grabbed them on sale for around $40 (which in my opinion is great for a pair of good jeans), and they quickly secured a spot on my Maui packing list. Even though plans have changed, these will be on repeat all summer long!
15. French Cross-Back Bikini Top
Last, but certainly not least, is this swimsuit from J. Crew. I’ve talked about it constantly on here because it’s that good! I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again – bikini top shopping is HARD when you have a smaller ribcage and bigger bust. That’s where this bikini top comes in! Because it has a tie-back, you can go up as many sizes and necessary, and you’ll still be able to tie/adjust the straps and band to fit your ribcage. For example, you might need a small for a regular bikini to fit your ribcage, but a large to fit your bust. Normally, this is quite the dilemma. But in this top, you can order the large and tie it however tight you need to feel secure. Win-win if you ask me!

I hope you enjoyed reading up on my Maui packing list as much as I enjoyed writing it – even if it is more of a fantasy these days! I am sure we will be back to vacationing and traveling soon, but for now I’ll be attempting to vacation in my own backyard!
xx, c
