Spoiler alert: Lake Pajamas are my favorite pajamas ever and make up 95% of my pajama drawer! After constantly recommending these on IG and explaining fit, fabrics, care, etc. I thought I’d put it all in one place!
Sizing
I recommend sizing up in Lake Pajamas! They will shrink a bit upon washing, and I also like my pajamas roomier rather than snug. I am in-between sizes and take my larger size, but I’ve also gone up a size from that and dried them extra to shrink them a little more.
Feel & Fabric
Truly the softest pajamas I’ve ever worn! And the best part is they STAY soft, and never pill like cheap pajamas that feel amazing when you purchase but lose their softness after a couple washes. Lake Pajamas get even softer over time too. Most of their pajamas are made of Pima Cotton which is what I buy all my pajamas from them in. But they also have DreamKnit (more silky), Poplin, and Bamboo (which they describe as a “breathable bounce”) fabrics. A majority of the Pima sets come with a contrasting piping/seam, and the Weekender Pima sets without. Both are extremely comfortable and the same degree of softness!
Styles
Lake Pajamas come in every single style you could imagine. Short sleeve and shorts. Long sleeve and shorts. Short sleeve and pants. Long sleeve and pants. Tank top and pants. Tank top and shorts. Long sleeve, short sleeve, tank, and strapless nightgowns. Robes. Even sets that come with a top and both shorts and pants! They also make some pant options in tall (which as a 5’8″ gal I need to try, will report back soon).
Washing & Care
One thing you must know before purchasing Lake Pajamas is that you cannot put them in the dryer! The first time I wash mine, I throw them in the dryer for no more than 15 minutes (this will shrink them a bit) and then lay flat or hang dry. Since I have so many pairs I usually do a load just for Lake, but don’t mind throwing them in with other light colored, delicate items. Below are the care instructions pulled directly from Lake’s website!
“Machine wash with like colors on the delicate cycle in cold water. Do not use bleach or OxyClean. Lay flat to dry. Your pajamas should be treated as a delicate and should not be washed with heavy items such as jeans and towels. Washing as directed will extend the life of your garment.“
Cost
Lake Pajamas are pricey – normally $100+ per pair. I know that may seem ridiculous, but for the quality and feel, I think it’s certainly a fair price that I have and will continue to pay. But, if I’m being honest, I’ve only purchased three of my many pairs at full price. I tend to wait for one of their three large sales (Annual Sale, Summer Sale, and Black Friday Sale) to stock up. You can snag them up to 50% off! Aside from final sale items, normal sale pieces can be returned for store credit, so you can absolutely use the sale to find the right fit for you.
