If you follow along over on Instagram you probably know my family took a vacation to Italy back in July! I’ve just finally gotten to rounding up the photos and destinations so I can share my favorite parts of the trip!
We spent a few days in both Rome and Florence, and then a week in Umbria. Since that’s a lot for one post, this one will cover Rome and Florence and Part 2 will cover Umbria! I don’t have every single detail from the trip, so this is kind of a mixture of what we did, what we ate, and what I wore!
ROME
Our first stop in Rome was the Trevi Fountain! How’d I get a picture all by myself, right in front, you ask? It was about 6:30 a.m. when we took this pic! I know jet lag sucks, but when you’ve been up since 4:00 a.m., take advantage of it and go see the sights that are usually super crowded!
Don’t let this photo fool you – this was me sweaty and exhausted after a 4.5 hour tour of the Vatican (don’t worry I had a shawl around my shoulders during the tour!). I have to say, the whole tour was a bit much and the only really exciting part for me was the Sistine Chapel and St. Peter’s Basilica – which of course were the last two stops on the tour! It’s just very crowded, and I am not one for crowds.. If you go in the summer be sure to bring lots of water and maybe your own personal fan!
Jumpsuit // Sandals // Sunnies
This was what I wore to dinner that night! So many of y’all loved this look over on Instagram. This was taken at the Spanish Steps which was honestly one of my favorite parts of Rome!
This is hands down my favorite swimsuit I’ve ever owned! Everything about it is perfect and it’s under $30! I wore it so many times on the trip.
I don’t have many pictures of my food from Rome – lol – but if you look on my insta-story highlights you’ll find a few favorites! Campo De’Fiori had some amazing pizza! I’d recommend the white potato pizza. For gelato you have to go to Come Il Latte – the best gelato we had the whole trip!!
FLORENCE
Tee // Skirt // Hat (similar) // Sunnies
Obsessed with this skirt and hat!! The skirt is on clearance, and it comes with a matching top, if you’re looking for a set. I wore the hat almost every day after purchasing it at a random market in Florence. Also, the white tee is on sale for just $12 right now! I can’t remember the name of the gelato place we stopped at, but it was near Ponte Vecchio and had a very long line!
This was taken in the Boboli Gardens – can you spot my brothers in the background?! If you walk to the top of the gardens there is a really beautiful view of Florence and a grassy area perfect for picnics!
Now time for food!! This rigatoni from Ristorante Il Caminetto was so good. Everything we got was great and the staff was very nice!
This was one of my favorite meals in Italy! It was at Ristorante Buca Mario – such a cool restaurant! You walk down stairs and are essentially below ground. Everyone there was so nice and the food was incredible!

I know this isn’t the most in depth post, but I feel like it sums up the highlights of my time in Rome and Florence! Check back soon for Part 2!
