A few years ago I started paying more attention to what was in my skincare products after learning more about the lack of regulation in the U.S. I started to incorporate safer/cleaner products into my routine little by little, and now I pretty much exclusively use clean skincare products. I wanted to share some of my favorites with you guys today, because some of these are seriously life-changing! I titled this post ‘cleaner‘ (emphasis on the er!) because not everything I use is 100% safe, clean, natural, or whatever you want to call it. But it is a lot better than what I was doing a few years ago!
I could go on about the chemicals and the damage they can do to your skin and your health in general, but I won’t so here’s a fun ‘myth vs. fact’ article from EWG. This is a great resource to check products from skincare to makeup and see if it’s considered ‘safe’ or not. Now, this isn’t an end all be all and I’m a firm believer in balance, but it is super helpful if you’re looking to clean up your beauty products!
Before we get started – a few of these items, including the Summer Fridays Jet Lag Mask and Caudalie Serum, are on sale at Sephora! I love shopping the Sephora Beauty Insider Sale to stock up on makeup and skincare and I’m a big fan of their ‘Clean by Sephora‘ stamp of approval (just look for the green symbol!).

1. Beautycounter Nourishing night cream
Y’all this stuff is my holy grail. I’ve used this pretty much every night for 2 years and I LOVE it! It’s super hydrating (my skin is veryyyy dry) but doesn’t feel thick or sticky on my face which I love. I also use quite a few other Beautycounter products, but this one is my favorite.
2. Cocokind matcha stick
This was a gift from one of my best friends, and I’m obsessed. It can be used as a lip balm, which is what I mainly use it for, or on dry spots and under your eyes. I find it a little sticky under the eyes, but it’s the best for dry lips!
3. Luminance skincare rosewater toner
I interned for this company over the summer and they are the definition of natural skincare – it’s so natural it has a shelf life shorter than most skincare products! Their rosewater toner is just the best – I spray it on my face after I wash it, after a workout to refresh, and to set my makeup.
4. Caudalie vinoperfect serum
This is a pricey one (definitely my pick for the Sephora sale, and already in my cart) but it has changed my skin! It evens everything out and gets rid of any dark spots or discoloration. I’ve noticed a huge difference since I started using this!
5. Summer Fridays jetlag mask
This product might be my very favorite of them all! I talk about it all the time on stories, but it really is that good. It’s technically a mask, but since you don’t have to wipe it off I tend to use it more like a moisturizer. It’s super thick, but my skin always looks its best the day after I’ve used it. I also love how it smells! Only the smaller size is still available at Sephora, but a little goes a long way and it’s the perfect ‘sample’ size.
6. elta md sunscreen
This stuff is specifically for acne-prone skin which is great. I use it every day and love that it doesn’t feel too greasy or ‘sunscreen-y’ if you know what I mean! A dermatologist recommended it to me years ago and I’ve been using it ever since – I actually didn’t know it was a cleaner product until recently!
…
This definitely isn’t my full cleaner skincare routine (I’m still trying to nail one down – does anyone else struggle with skincare routines? I get overwhelmed!), but these are some of my tried and true products I’ve discovered after switching to safer skincare options!
