TopHello and happy Monday! I am SO excited to finally be putting up this first blog post! I hope y’all enjoy!
Before I get into the outfit, huge shoutout to my bestie Phoebe for taking these pics! She took my senior portraits so this wasn’t our first time modeling/photographing together, but taking pictures for the blog was a whole new experience!
Now onto the outfit!! I spotted this blue and white striped top at Target and immediately had to try it on. Blue and white stripes (my favorite!!) have been everywhere this season, along with big ruffled sleeves. I love that this top combines both trends – and for under $30!
I’ll admit, I was intimidated at first by this top. Despite my love of stripes, the huge ruffles were a little out of my comfort zone. But after putting it on, I was sold. I mean, look at those sleeves!! The fit is a little boxy, but the sleeves soften the structured look. Just for reference, I’m actually wearing a large (am I the only one who tries on clothes even if they don’t have your size in hopes it fits?!) and love the way it fits, so I’d recommend going up a size or two!
In order to let the top itself make the statement, I wanted to keep the rest of the outfit simple and understated. You can never go wrong with a pair of nice white jeans, wedges, and some pearl studs. My jeans are Paige, which I know can be pricey, but they are such great quality and fit so well! And I know everyone and their mother has been talking about these Marc Fisher wedges, but they are amazing. I’d been eyeing these for months and finally gave in, and I’m so glad I did! They are comfy and super easy to walk in, which for me is a huge win.
This outfit would be perfect for a fun summer brunch or dinner with friends. You could also pair it with flat sandals for a more casual vibe, but I think this top is so fun you just have to dress it up!
