Workout Top // Leggings // Nikes // Sunnies // Necklace
I think one of the best ways to start off the New Year is with a set of goals/intentions (I kind of hate the word ‘resolutions’). If you didn’t already know, I love lists and I love accomplishing goals (big and small). I also like that the beginning of a new year gives me the chance to do a little bit of self-reflection and decide where I might need to make some changes. Here are my goals for 2018!
1. Workout 4 Days a Week
At the beginning of 2017 I was working out 5-6 days a week, and I had never felt better! Unfortunately, as soon as I headed home for the summer, I was working out way less (partially from recovering from surgery, and partially from not having a state of the art gym 2 minutes from my room!). And now that my room is farther from the TCU rec, I find myself spending less time there. This year I’m determined to get back into the swing of things!!
2. Journal or Read Before Bed
I’m the worst about watching Netflix right before I go to sleep, I know I should be giving myself break from staring at a phone/computer. I’ve started to journal a tiny bit and occasionally read a chapter or two of a book for fun (what a concept!) before I head to sleep, and I love it! I’m going to work my hardest on giving myself a break from the screen before sleep, which sort of leads into my next goal…
3. Watch Maximum 2 Episodes of TV on School Days
I feel like I’m always watching Netflix before bed. Or if I have a weird amount of time between classes. Or while I eat. I know it’s super unhealthy, and I’d be so much more productive if I didn’t do it! Trust me, we all deserve a good day of binge-watching sometimes, but I want to limit that to days I don’t need to be getting things done. I always feel like I “don’t have any time,” but I realize this is where I’m wasting a lot of it. Hopefully this will allow me to be more productive, active, and focus more on school and the blog!
4. Eat Less Sweets
I definitely don’t believe in depriving yourself, everything is good in moderation! But, I have the biggest sweet tooth you’ve ever seen. Just ask my friends. It’s gotten to the point where I feel like I rely on sweets. I’m going to start out by giving up one sweet each day and see where that gets me!
5. Try Kombucha
This probably seems like a silly goal, but I’ve been wanting to try kombucha forever. For some reason, I keep stopping myself from actually buying it. What brand do I want? What flavor? Looking at the kombucha section in Whole Foods gets me so overwhelmed I just give up. If anyone out there has any recommendations please let me know!!
6. Stop Hitting Snooze
I always hit snooze at least three times when my alarm goes off in the morning! It needs to stop!!! Hopefully 2018 is the year of getting out of bed the minute that alarm goes off!
7. Give More to Charity
I feel like I always think about donating money to charity, but I never actually do it. This year my goal is to give some money to charity once a month. It can be $5, $10, or even $100, whatever amount I feel like I can work into my budget that month. I’m really excited about this because there are so many amazing charities out there!!
What are your goals for 2018?
xx, C
